Agreed, and with a great feel for the light on the subject. Nicely done!
    Where are we going?
And why are we in this handbasket?

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

The iconic Minnehaha Falls in NE Georgia. I took an 8x10 image here years ago, but have been meaning to shoot 4x5 so as to make larger prints. Very happy how the water flow turned out here. Shot with my Intrepid 4x5 mk4 and Nikkor 90mm f/8 on T-Max 100, a 2-second exposure and semi-stand developed in Pyrocat 1:1:100 for 22 minutes using the remaining solution after developing 4 rolls of 120. I used a very low tripod location to get the two large rocks on the left of the frame to line up in a V-shape without overlapping, and allowing the whitewater flowing into the corner to accentuate the foreground flow and turbulence.

PS: I have a box of 16x20 Ilford Art300 textured sg paper sitting here waiting for a good image. I'm wondering how this would look with that texture...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I've printed on Art 300 a lot. I've concluded that it works best on images with plenty of highlight and midtone, and less well on shadow biased images. With heavy black prints shadow detail is lost and its hard to light the print to avoid reflection due to the papers texture. Also ironically images with lots of texture work well, flat areas of tone tend to look patchy being compromised by the paper's texture

At a large 16x20 I expect your negative will print nicely (you might choose to dodge the foreground rock a little more to avoid too much black). As the paper size gets smaller the paper texture starts to compete with the detail.

I wish I could print 16x20! the largest my darkroom with accommodate (trays and washing) is 12x16

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Thanks faraz! I've only printed on a pack of 5x7 Art300 I bought some time ago, which was interesting and I really liked it. Worked best for lighter-toned images which tracks with your comments.

I will give it a shot next time I'm able to get some print time in. 16x20 is my favorite size. I can print up to 20x24 here, but still want to go bigger. Just haven't had the cash to do it.
