What skies of drama! Here are some skies-of-calm to complement (compliment) the imagery.

This shot is from two years ago. I’m at 5,000 feet in the Olympic mountains – a secret spot where I pitch my tent. About 80 miles distant, you can just see snow-capped Mount Baker rising in the Cascade mountains, a very different range. Mount Baker is a neighboring volcano to Mount Saint Helens. I remember in 1975 when Mount Baker began spouting steam, visible to the entire region. Many thought she’d lose her temper (as Mount Saint Helens did five years later). Then she quieted down. Thank goodness. But it’s just a matter of time…

Thanks, h2oman. I'm sure we've all seen plenty of shots of silhouetted grass in water before. What made this scene interesting for me was the progression from delicate individual blades in the foreground to the jumble of stalks in the background. Each zone by itself seemed less interesting.

Yessiree. Taken me a while to get onto paper.

    All the best,

It's really fun going out & shooting along side of Daniel. The problem is, I always seem to like his images better. Daniel has such a terrific eye!

Attached is my take from the same cornfield in Illinois. We had just spent the day shooting at Starved Rock State Park & were on our way north heading to DeKalb. The corn remonded me of Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

That was a fun day. Daniel, I'm still waiting to see that clump of trees.
