Nicely done. My first impression would be to get the weed wacker out, but I'm glad they were included in the scene.

Thanks Sam; my first thoughts were to find a way to avoid the reeds, but I couldn't have cleared them without falling into deep mud or water, so I gave up and decided that they were an essential part of the fabric of the photograph.

I think I'm getting better at the focus thing (tilt helps!) but it's not perfect. I'm just trying to learn how this works

That pair of images work together really well, it also looks extremely cold!

I like them. There's a tendency, in both photography and life, to get upset over what is perceived as "clutter", but that clutter is often an integral part of things. I like the inclusion of it in landscapes; nature is not tidy.

(I also dislike my landlords' weed whacker... always chopping down the morning glories. "Weeds" they call 'em.)

    Vaughn,

It's must be it, the Dry Lagoon. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, I had the wrong spelling for the place
