    Andrew,

The subject matter is not my "cup of tea", but I am curious as to your intent/concept with these images. Also, what film/lenses are you using? I assume this is 4x5 work?

Andrew - I am liking this series despite it being not my cup of tea. You could build a quality portfolio of these if you continue to explore.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Thanks everyone! I've normally shot more traditional landscapes but given I'm not going to be able to leave my city potentially for the rest of the year I've had to think of other things to photograph. One advantage of the pandemic over here is that a lot of public spaces are practically empty now (especially schools and universities as everyone is doing remote study) which suits my style and what I've been going for.

Yes they're all 4x5 shots, almost all of them with Chamonix 45n-2 and a Fujinon 135mm f5.6 lens, some with a Fujinon 210mm f5.6. Split pretty evenly between ektar 100 and portra 400. Home processed using Kodak chemistry and DSRL scanned, inverted using negative lab pro.

I didn't start out with any particular concept, I was just enjoying wandering around a local deserted university which I found very visually interesting, since then some ideas are starting to pop out after seeing them all side-by-side. I want the images to have some form of tension between man-made and natural forms, generally the feeling that one is either encroaching on or holding back the other. I want a feeling of emptiness or desertion, so no people. I want the scenes (including lighting and colour pallet) to feel a bit 'tired', giving a bit more of an 'end of things' feel.

This is beautifully done, the way the reflection merges into the inside is sublime.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

This is one of my first 4x5 landscapes, I was hoping for a bit of early morning light on the hills but the clouds closed in when I was still about 15min out, it went downhill from there. I lasted about 3h on location, then run out of coffee. Weather started to improve once I was nearly back at the car (though by then the direction would have been wrong, the window for the photo I was (and still am) after is only about an hour).
