I'm old enough to have grown up reading Richard Bach's Jonathan Livingston Seagull, and this photo reminds me (in spirit) of the illustrations from that book. Not sure if this is a seagull, although it was taken at the beach.

I think "Seagull" is a generic catch-all name encompassing the 50? some odd Gull type birds.

So, if you think this was a "Seagull", it definitely was not - or - if you think this was a "Seagull", yes, it probably was

Nice shot anyway. Reminds me of one I shot a few years ago, though not of a bird so much.

Still experimenting with some infrared film, I'm now also taking the digital along to "see' what it will look like. Haven't gotten anything worth posting on the film side yet, but hopefully today's images will turn out alright when I get in the darkroom tonight.
