    They're both great, but the first one looking down has a greater sense of mystery and surprise in my humble opinion.

    #2 Also very good, but the first is really excellent.
    I agree with Ken's comment that #1 has a greater sense of mystery and surprise.

    I also think the first image has a far greater feeling of depth - both literally and figuratively.
