Thread: safe haven for tiny formats

    Re: safe haven for tiny formats

    From this morning at Säntis, a 2502m summit in the Appenzell alps, looking across north-east Switzerland to Austria and Liechtenstein. From t-shirt weather 1000m lower, the temperature was 0° centigrade at the summit, and the wind was close to hurricane force, with windchill making it feel like -15° centigrade. Shortly after this photograph was taken, the summit was covered in cloud for the rest of the morning;

    Beautiful summit view, David.

    I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. My cameras have also been doing nothing for a long time too. Time to get out, get in shape and start taking some picture. A scene from a warm up hike.

    It took me a moment to find the scale - I was not thinking big enough! There is something about low angle light that really speaks with desert country.

    Your still life work is exceptional. You are producing some terrific imagery with your A7RII + 75mm Color-Heliar setup. I suspect your Rodenstock APO-Sironar-S 150mm f/5.6 is gathering dust from a lack of use. Why don't you sell it to me so I can exercise that Copal 0 on a regular basis. Of course, my only intention is to help remove any quilt you might be feeling from neglecting that old APO-Sironar-S glass. I'm just trying to be of service

    I have a north-facing window in my living room. The pre-dawn light is magical. Once I have my 4x5 setup operational, I intend to spend some quality time exploring that room in the wee hours of the morning.
