    I showed Reinhold how massive a difference there was in image softness between 5.6 and 8, so he offered to make me two intermediate stops. I went out shooting today using just the f6.6 stop in the 190mm Wollaston meniscus. Speed graphic, tiltall, 4x5 tmy2, pyrocat-HD. Shooting into the late afternoon sun.

    David, the bold composition shapes (masses of light and dark) go well with soft lenses like that; keep it up! Dreamy, but original and not dreamy-cliche.

    Thanks Jim! For a traditional Christmas card with outdoor trees, in Maine we need snow on the trees photographed. Otherwise it just says, "wrong season". Perhaps a recipient in Nevada would not be looking for or expecting snow.
