Thanks Jim for responding, I love the thought that when I am shooting that I just might get lucky and someday make something that resembles one of your fine images. You truly are a master.

I hope I can make it up to your next workshop. When do you think you will have the next one? Any chance to do anything winter?

My vacation resets in October. This years vacation was cut way short by the chicken pox just 250 miles outside of Vegas. I was looking so forward to meeting you on my way back home from our trip to Mammoth. No such luck, kids always seem to play the unknown variable card just as everything is going so well.

Good thing I still have a bunch of film in the freezer. Well maybe not a bunch

a couple of new ones for me done yesterday. An 11" f7 petzval, and a new 2 me 9" achromatic meniscus mounted in an Ilex 3 shutter. Petzval first.

Old glamorpuss '39 Ford Pickup. Scott has bubba and I've got this ford.

These are both on full plate. I was trying to get the petzval to swirl, and failed, but the achromat swirled for me

Funny thing you mention that, Jim. Even Eidoscope can swirl. Not extensivelly so, but never the less...

    Hermagis Eidoscope #3 on 5x4.

I know logically that the Verito's sweet-spot is f5 to f6 ... but, like Eddie, I just can't get it to stop down once I look at the ground glass ... so this is at f4 ... a 14 1/2" Verito, 8x10 on Arista-Edu Ultra 100, HC-110 (h) in Jobo rotary:

Gate post, succulent, and rock at sunset ...

A quick test of new-to-me 18cm projection petzval. Rear element only, reversed. Almost ran out of bellows on 5x7 Agfa Universal:

As it's my first encounter with such a beasts (petzvals, that is. with the subject I am familiar for 10 years), I thought that the back is really front etc. Homework not done. Now it is.

Right after, "please put away all electronic devices." Nothing electronic about this.

    Boston from a Jetblue flight.

Speed graphic, Reinhold's 190/3.2 Wollaston Meniscus with the f4 waterhouse stop, Efke 50 film in pyrocat-HD.

I like this a lot too; it would look good a little lighter printed 11x14" or so on anyone's wall.
