Cambo 540, Nikor W 135 f5.6 on 4"x5" HP5 Plus 400 pulled 2 stops in DEV.
Dev adjustments due to incorrect Iso placement on my spot meter during exposure measurement. I measured the scene and shot the film as if it was ISO 100 (doh, dont worry, I only shot 12 images like this, glad it wasnt 8x10 film!).
Scanned with an Agfa Duoscan HID using VueScan. Image re sized in Photoshop.
I dont think it measures up in any small way to Jim Galli but it does have a semi soft focus that he is known for.
I placed the focal plane to cut thru the front of the truck and go up the boom. This is why the tires and rest of the scene are soft, ect...
Anyway this was my first 4x5 film Image on my Cambo 540.
Any CC is welcome.
Steve,
This is interesting as the stopwatch is sharper in tighter focus, but the chain that is out of focus appears to be blurred as if it was moving.
Does capturing the image with the DSLR's small sensor give it this effect or is this just a trait of the lens that would look the same on sheet film? Or did you move the chain and I'm pondering pointless arguments?
Chris
hey Chris,
This is purly the lens.. I used some tilt for the face detail and let the chain fall off to the imagination..
I think what helped me here was that I took a series of shots maybe 20 and finally decided on this shot .. Now with film I may not of got the shot
kind regards
steve
Chris,
Would also like to mention that the lens is a 180mm 2.7 ish
