St. Lukes by Brandon Ward
St. Luke's in Atlanta
Shot on TMax 100 on a Calumet CC(?) 4x5 w/ 125mm/5.6 lens, developed normally (maybe 1 stop pull?)
So my friend Kat and I totally stumbled upon this one after making a series of wrong turns outside of Taos (where she lives). Had to pull over an set up the view cam. Only later in the evening did I realize what church I accidentally discovered! I'm sure everyone one of you guys on this forum have a shot of this church!
I had to dodge out the sky because I had some bad processing errors up there, but thank god the rest of the image came out.
Taken with an Intrepid 4x5, a caltar 210mm lens, and on fp4, processed in a tray with HC110H.
San Jose de Gracia in Las Trampas, NM. Jan 2017.

Boxgrove Priory by Toby Key, on Flickr
Boxgrove Parish Church, next to Boxgrove Priory. This church dates at least in part from the 12th century I finally got round to testing the Schneider 75m f5.6 Super Angulon I bought recently. It's really sharp and doesn't seem to have any distortion to speak of. It's a challenge to use in a dark environment like this, I could only see image in the corners of the ground glass by looking at them at an angle, and in this light I was guessing the framing. Exposure was 15 secs @ f16 (4 secs metered plus reciprocity compensation). Shot on Ilford HP5+.
My kind of picture, Toby, very nice.
I wonder if it might have taken another half a stop exposure to bring up those shadows up a touch?

Hi Andrew
Thanks for your response and compliment.
Actually, I never troubled about the shadow - it seemed to balance (or triangulate with) other dark areas (trees, church roof) in the image.
Now that you mention it, removal probably would be an improvement.
I always thought the shadow was from another headstone but can't remember. It could be my camera.
I know just enough to be dangerous !
Tobias, great image. The architecture and lighting are wonderfully rendered.
