    Here's a memorial plaque to Henricus Aldrich on wall of the nave of Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. It's not the first skull and wings I've come across. Presumably it's to indicate that because the dead person (skull) was a good person he's being transported into heaven on angel's wings? Hmmm ...

    This is one of five from the cathedral that I've just posted on my website as part of my ongoing project to photograph England's cathedrals.
