    Share some macro photos

    Hi all,
I would like to start a new macro thread where we can share some macro and close-up photos. Often there is a lot of discussion on technical details concerning macro photography, (especially for the 1:1 and above magnifications) but relatively few photos shared. Macro LF photography is no easy task, and I would like to see what others have done with it. Try to include a sentence or two on how you took the photo (lens used, lighting, etc.)

I'll start it off with this zebra shell, taken with an 80mm componon enlarging lens mounted backwards on a flower pot to further extend the bellows of my cambo 8x10. Without a shutter I merely turned off all the lights, pulled the dark slide, and fired the flash. Film was 8x10 Arista 200.

Well, I guess I can consider this a macro shot. Taken with my Zone VI 4x5 and my Rodenstock 210mm lens with Efke-25 @ F-64 I think and about 19 inches of bellows draw. Exposure was about 6 or 7 minutes.

Sorry about that. The film was developed in Pyrocat-HD minimal agitation and the print is on Forte Polywarmtone in Ansco 130.

a glass jar full of dried roses and peonies from a long ago birthday, with dust all over the damn thing. This is about twice life size macro, using a 150mm barrel ektar on a Houghton Victo whole plate, with paper negative. light from the window, f8 for about 30 seconds.

Do pinholes count? This is one of those Japanese cork carving nick knacks that you have on a shelf for decoration. 4x5 Plus-X, D76 1:1 on Sepia toned Brovira. The bellows on a Speed Graphic was extended to the max and the exposure was about an hour. I forget the size of the pinhole.
