    Reading Spot Meter

Please forgive me for what seems like a simple question but I am new at LF photography, after using in camera meters for most of my life. A Solignar spot meter has exposure times in both white and red. When the f stop I would like to use, after adjusting for the proper zone, falls in the red numbers, what am I supposed to do in so far as the length of time for the exposure?

BTW, after making photographs with 35 mm cameras for close to 60 years, a 4 x 5 is a welcome change and relief helping to put me back into the slow lane.

    Thanks,

    Harris

The white numbers are fractions of a second, red are WHOLE seconds- so, red 4 means '4 seconds'.

That Soligor one degree is a honey. It's a fine piece of kit; keep it happy!
(It comes in various iterations including Adorama and other rebrands, but it's a Soligor at the core.)
