From an earlier post from Mr. Simmons:In deference to this group, we will put the three winners up on the web site. This will take a little time and again, is more than we committed to doing.
Bob,
That doesn't make a lot of sense. There were supposed to be 7 cash winners and an additional 20 honorary mentions. I can imagine that images of all 27 winners might not fit in the mag, but putting them online is not rocket science nor should it break the back of his server. One wonders how we get from 27 to 3 and especially from 7 cash winners to 3 that will be posted sometime in the future.
Only Mr Simons can answer that one. I was just correcting the suggestion that the winners would only be shown in VC magazine. Hopefully it just slipped Mr. Simmon's memory at the time as to how many winners there were and all winners will be honoured as normal for these things. I mean, how can you get an "Honourable Mention" if it is never actually mentioned anywhere? ...
Steve-
I think it would go a long way if you posted the list of each of the 'winners' & 'honourable mentions'. Maybe just post their name, city/state and picture title with the corresponding prize? To make it easy I pulled the categories from the foto3 website.... you could simply cut/copy and fill in the blanks -surely there must be an easy list to consult?
The contest description states that the prize winners & finalists will be on display during the conference.... it seems to me that failure to have done so could fall under a breach of agreement and might entitle entrants to a full or partial refund....
I'm disappointed with the lack of disclosure that's swirling around this competition. It's not good for Foto3, View Camera or photography competitions in general. Many photographers happily sent in their images and entry fee and merely want to know WHO won... Seems they have every right to know and are actually expecting very little...
If this list of winners has already been posted I apologize in advance. Screen shot of foto3 website attached in case there are questions around citiations in this msg.

it wasn't just the competition that lack of disclosure has been swirling around ..
attendees and vendors were not told why 2 of the 3 sponsors
didn't attend, a handful of the workshops were cancelled &C &C &C
maybe the person who organized it will learn from his mistakes and the next
foto1 conference will be a bit more transparent ... perhaps mr simmons
is going to let us know who won the competition, and
what actually happened to cause such an exodus from foto3/foto1
since most people who atteneded, or wanted to attend
or didn't attend still want to know.
it seems that lack of disclosure was this event's middle name ...

I'm just curious how long it will take for moderators to notice and to stop the personal bashing in this thread.
