    Hi Thomas,

Great composition of an interesting building! I'm not sure though that it benefits from the use of the wollaston. Could be that it's due to my small screen on which the effect is too subtle to strike me. But I like the idea in general. Why not use a petzval for architecture and a sinaron s for portrait?

Thank you Peter. I am not sure myself yet either if architecture subjects like this one will benefit from the use of simple soft focus lenses. And I am still exploring what the potential of this lens is. At close look there is some potential there, some very special kind of glow on the edges. Not a very pronouced effect on this subject, though.

I think the only way is to really find out is to keep trying.

    Greetings, Thomas

Thomas, Interesting image. At what f-stop was it shot?
I have been thinking about getting a wollaston myself - specially for architecture - something like the larger version of 250mm - to get a bit wider than standard... But I mostly shoot interiors...

I used the smallest aperture that came with the lens, f16.

I use a Packard shutter with the lens which has a single speed of 1/25th (not 1/125th). So usable aperture is very much determined by a fixed shutter speed. Bright sunlight and TMAX 400 exposed at 200, a yellow filter and 1/25th = f16. I have to add some ND filters so I can use wider apertures in bright sunlight.

    Greetings, Thomas

    Danke, Thomas!
I think with my usual combination of film choice and dark church interiors I will be running into several seconds if not minutes practically every time so I might get a chance to explore the wider aperture options...
