Core academic and non-photo Art classes (drawing, sculpting etc) the first 3.5 years. Most schools around here only have 4-5 photo related classes, only one of which is film related.

Have some folks posted the same equipment in this thread more than once? Photo gear pride indeed.

Strange. Midsize state school here and there's much more film-related courses. Yes in the BFA you can't "specialize" in one area but one could reasonably take a photo course every semester if they wished.

    I wish.

I took one course in photo over 6 years of post HS as an old man. Gots me sum learnin

No regrets, I had giant holes in my education and still do, if I could I would either attend or teach classes for the rest of my days, but that's an impossible dream.

Working at a university it is really nice to know all the faculty and be able to just join in on classes whenever I want. We actually have a program here that we can attend classes for free as employees and get regular credits and such. I think most schools have that. My girlfriend got her Master's free of charge taking night/weekend classes for a couple of years.

My current LF (or near LF) cameras. I love using the Graflexes and the TP. I only use the MPP for stuff requiring full movements, whilst the Tailboard camera needs some restoration.

In order, Graflex Speed Graphic [3¼×4¼] (I use a 6x9 back); Thornton Pickard Ruby Reflex [1/4 Plate] (also used with a 6x9 film back);Graflex Anniversary Speed Graphic [4x5]; MPP Micro Technical MK VII [4x5]; FKD Reisekamera (taiboard) [5x7]
