FYI- Dealing direct with Shen Hao

Just thought I'd let everybody know that I emailed Zhang Fuming, asking him to set up a PayPal account to make a purchase easier and avoid wire transfer fees. He did so, and everything went smoothly. I received my reducing back quite quickly (less than 2 weeks), and no duty was charged. Dealing directly with Shen Hao was easy and prompt, unlike the experiences I've heard from others in the past.

I got my Shen-Hao gear from Badger Graphics for the same price as direct.

Unless the factory prices have gone up Badgers prices are higher.

Not on everything and not worth it for small items but if you order a bunch of stuff then the savings can add up.

Those prices look accurate from what I remember. This direct method may be more worthwhile for us Canucks to know about, as nobody up here is distributing any longer, and the duty can be $$ cross-border. Plus they don't carry everything at Badger (like the 4x5 back for the HZX57 I was wanting).

So can you actually attach a digital back to the Shen? I'm asking because I see an adapter listed. Will attach to both standard and reducing (from 5x7) backs?

There is no duty on cameras in Canada, just standard provincial and federal taxes.

Some couriers charge brokerage fees, but that has nothing to do with the government. It's a fee for service.
