I can buy a linhof m679 for use with my hasselblad backs but i donīt know how to advance the back in this camera. are there any adapters for this?

Hi, I have just purchased a used Linhof M679. I have a P30+ on a H mount.
Does anyone know what the part number of the adapter plate I will need?
Stuff I have read has confused me so far (easy to do!) I'm not sure if I just need the adapter, OR if I need the universal adapter, and then the other h adapter fits into it.
Help :-)
The part number for the adapter for Hasselblad mags is 001694. But for the Hasselblad H 1 one needs the universal adapter 001697 and the plate 001701.Originally Posted by Neil Latham

You will have a couple of choices.
1: Do you want a fixed back or do you want a sliding back?
2: If a sliding back what is the size of the chip in your camera?

There use to be an adapter for V backs to put them on the TK that had a pump type lever to advance the film. 4 pumps = 1 frame advance.
The current adapters do not have this lever as the digital backs could not mount into them. That includes the back adapters for the 679 series of cameras.
The weight of a basic M679 or the M679cc is about 9 pounds. These cameras have a built-in version of the Profi III ball head so that is included in the weight. To this 9 pounds you have to add the weight of whatever back adapter system you add as well as the ground glass and fresnel (if used) and your digital or film back and, of course, lens and lens board. Figure closer to 11 pounds ready to use less the tripod weight. Also, all M679 cameras, M679, M679cc and M679cs, are only sold with the camera case. These cameras are not shipped in a box. So you might want to add the weight of the fitted case as well.
I have used my Alpa SWA with Hasselblad V backs on a back adapter designed for digital backs (i.e. with no lever) simply using a key (or any other pointed object) to initially wind the back; after the first shot one simply uses the back's own lever.
A P30 is a poor choice for a view camera. The microlenses cause problems like color fringing when tilting and shifting.
