Processing 5x12 negs in a Jobo 3005 Drum?

I am interested in a 5x12 setup but want to be sure I can Process 5x12 negs in a Jobo 3005 drum. The drum is about 11.5" deep so the neg will sit up about 1/2" into the lid. I remember some talk either here or on APUG on this but I can't find the thread.

    Anyone doing 5x12 in a Jobo 3005?

    Thanks

I do 4x10 in this drum. It works fine.

Too short. If you can track down the 3004 drum, it has enough extra length to handle 5x12 sheets. The 3005 does not. I speak from experience.

But don't let that stop you. Lots of other easy ways to do 5x12. It's a wonderful format.

That is what I was afraid of. I am already developing 7x17 in 2850 drums and 4x10 in 3005 drums. I was interested in moving from 4x10 to 5x12 but I was hoping the 3005 would work for 5x12. The 3005 is so easy to use and 5 negs at a time is great.

    Thanks Everybody

I do 5x12 wrapped longitudinally in an old Beseler 11x14 drum. Too short to fit the negative in lengthwise, but wrapped along the circumference, it works.

Yes, I do 5x12 in a Jobo 3005. So does Scott Davis. It works fine if the film is positioned in the center of each tube (since the center is the tallest section of the tanks) with the emulsion facing out towards the outer part of the tank.

Thanks for the input! I did cut some scrap 7x17 film into 5x12 and it seemed that if I put the film in as you just stated above, it would fit. I was just not sure if it would process properly, although there is no reason to think it would not. I already have Jobo 3005 drums for my 8x10 and 4x10 and would love to use the same process for
5x12 if I decide to go that direction.

    Thanks Again
