    Timer problem for Firenze 4x5

I have an Omega ET-500 Timer and a Firenze 4x5 enlarger. The timer is 110v and the enlarger is 220v. When I turn on the timer the lights of the enlarger doesn't turn on. The Firenze has two lights of 360w and the max output of the timer is 500w. Wich is my problem ? Timer 110v vs enlarger 220v or Timer Output 500w vs Dichroics lights 320w x 2 = 720w ? Please I need some help. In other words,,,do I need to buy another Timer that works with with 220v and a max output of at least 720w ? ( I live from Argentina )

    Thanks a lot

first of all everything needs to be adapted exactly to the service voltage level, that is, if the house power is 220v every device needs to be able to run at 220. If the timer is 120v then you need a 120 to 220 transformer or power converter and with enough power to handle the enlarger. You need to get a timer that can handle the biggest load or simply a way to translate the power, meaning that the timer can switch a much more powerful load center which is connected to the enlarger.

Please don't mess with 220v or mixed voltage systems, people get electrocuted. The best thing you can do is spend the money to hire a professional electrician to examine your darkroom setup and get the appropriate equipment for the job.
