    Software / hardware set up

Just a question regarding dedicated hard drives for imaging software.

I keep reading about "... I have a 160GB for my PS" etc.. If you run a dedicated drive for say Photoshop, do you have the program coming off of it too, or is it purely for image files and processing of such?

Purely for the image files. Photoshop resides in the Applications folder on a Mac, and the Programs folder on a PC. With larger files its all about getting the image on and off the hard drive. Photoshop's RAM handling could be way better.

The good news is that if you are willing to screw an internal drive to a bracket, and slide the bracket into a case, you cans save yourself thousands on a RAID array.
