    Wow! I use cheap construction felt from Joanne's for my backdrop, and a variety of Ikea and other cheap lamps. I think my whole setup costs less than one of your C stands! I might be able to rig up a light stand/clamp to hold the plant, that looks like a good idea. I mostly use my dining table, with the felt hanging from a cabinet, draped onto the table, but I might be able to do something with the plant held in a clamp like that. Thanks for sharing!

    This shows my setup fairly well, it's pretty much the same for digital, 35mm or LF:


    I definitely need to get the plant further from the backdrop.

    Hey, whatever works, Drew! I've got a bunch of 3'x6' diffusion panels that I made from PVC and elastic cord @ 2bucks a pop. But yeah, if you could get some distance off the background it would probably make your life easier.
