Post Moving a LF flatbed copy camera

    Hello,
I've just agreed to provide advice and recommendations to a company that is moving its offices and equipment. Their national sales manager is an old friend of the family or I would never have said yes to his request.
One of their main concerns is just how to move, then re-calibrate the large flatbed copy camera that is used to reproduce calibration images for optical equipment. I won't be able to see the camera in question until Friday (9/21/07) but perhaps someone has experience with equipment of this type.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide.
    Jack

Jack - If you are just advising them on moving the copy camera, I would suggest contacting machine tool (metal lathes, milling machines) dealers in your area for a suggestion on a professional mover. There are specialists in moving large, heavy machinery who should have all the gear to pick up a process camera and transport it. And maybe even do the leveling at the new site. Metal lathes must be precision leveled in order to be accurate.

However, if the camera owner doesn't want to spend the money for a pro mover, and you somehow get talked into moving the thing, that is another story. I moved one of these several years ago. I had to take the camera in order to get the Artar lenses. I can give you some ideas if you need them, but you really should talk to owner into getting anyone but you to do the job.

I'm curious - what make camera and how long is it?
