cracking!!
Rather new in LF, but here is my take with
a Graflex and Aero Ektar,
Experiments in Type 55, never shot this stuff before.
First sheet... Brother-in-Law, Fuji 240A @ f/11, Arca Swiss 4x5.
Sheldon...that's a great one!
Type 55 is addictive...and it's more expensive than crack or heroin!
I think the portrait is more effective without the Polaroid artifacts. I don't object to the idea of them, it's just that in this case, the image works even better with a different... frame. I feel that what the photographer composed in the ground glass, is already quite good, and the artifacts work against it. That's my humble opinion, of course.
I like the Polaroid artifacts. I think it adds to the image. The image is very clean and well executed and the artifacts add a unique 1 up frame around this portrait that will never be duplicated. I think the photographer could generate an outstanding portfolio using this film and this approach to framing. The image stands as you've cropped it too however it doesn't have the same impact. I like the raw/smooth relationship. If anything I might have played down the white splotch on the lower right side of the frame to give the frame better balance.
sort of portraits....
