Another thought for you ... some people's web service providers give statistics on the connection speeds and monitor sizes of the people who visited their sites. If you get this info from photographers, it might help you out more than knowing what a handful of us are using.

My reports show only a few percent of visitors using dialup; the rest using something fast. Also fewer than 10% of visitors using anything smaller than 1280 x 1024.

Big and slow not a problem.

    1200x1920 22.5" Sony CRT.

Dialup - with an accelerator (with what I do) it is almost as fast as cable at a much lower cost. No issues with maintaining a website or uploading large files.

My recommendation is to go no wider than about 700 pixels, and have images no taller than about 900 pixels so they may be seen in their entirety, without scrolling.

    Define "is".

Oh, wait. You said "it". Never mind, Monica. Go back to your closet.

I find it really interesting to see various people commenting on it every once in a while, most of them having their own interpretation of something widely perceived as being simple. Perhaps the hidden question is: is it really that simple? Now, the question remains what exactly is the "it" in the question?

Post Scriptum: I don't think this topic really belongs in this thread, so perhaps it should be moved elsewhere, whatever the moderators decide would be appropriate.

Now, in THAT particular case, the "is" part was happening under the desk, not in the closet, if I remember it correctly.
