    My 5x7 is Headless!

I need a stronger tripod head to handle my Sinar 5x7.

I am trying to find a Sinar pan-tilt head, but failing that is there anything stable that locks down tightly for about $100 used?

How much are the Sinar heads going for used lately?

    Thanks for the help!

If it doesn't need to be portable, Majestic heads are cheap and solid, if a bit on the heavy side. If you can't find one with a 3/8" socket on the bottom for a normal set of tripod legs, the adapters aren't expensive for the ones that clamp onto tubes (I think the two sizes are 5/8" and 7/8", but check the Bencher website for details). In fact, it is probably cheaper to buy one that clamps onto a tube and to buy the adapter than to buy one that fits directly onto a common 3/8"-16 fitting.

Gitzo R3's tend to go for around fifty bucks or so. I've got two of them now, but all my tripods are now fitted, so you won't be competing with me any more. It's my favorite head.
