These images are cool, how do go about trying to get one of these lenses? Do you just check out ebay? What do you look for?
Laurent
ebay is a good place to start. First, what camera are you using and how big is the lensboard? Some of the old portrait lenses are huge and require a big lensboard. Search for Verito, Veritar, Kodak Portrait, Imagon, Versar, etc. A few years ago these lenses were available very cheap. Not so anymore...

sometimes you can find them mis-listed on ebay by searching "old lens" or "brass lens"
i have found pretty good stuff that way ...
good luck!

9" verito on 8x10
Here are two pictures of my daughters. The color one was taken with a 15 1/2" Verito f4 and the B&W one taken with a 254mm Vertar f6.
You know, you could all sharpen up these Verito images in photoshop...

There are still a few lesser-known-but-interesting lenses that sneak by for peanuts on ebay. A cheapie from today...

Jeremy, that is a beautiful portrait. What kind of lighting did you use? Isn't 9" short for 8x10--did you have to crop?
