Heads-up for Seattleites - Glazers Imacon Rental

Don't know if others have noticed but Glazers now has an Imacon 848 & Mac G4 Quad workstation for rent. Posted cost was $60hr.

I'm very familiar with the Windows version of FlexColor on a 343 so I'm sure I could get a minumum of 3 and probably several more scans within an hour making it very inexpensive compared to going next door for drum scans at Ivey.

    Thank you Thomas:

I bet the learning curve is atrocious. Well, it would be another excuse to go to Glazers.

    No, just the opposite.

FlexColor, especially the later versions, is very easy to use. It's relatively simple to get a straight scan. It has built in profiles for most films but it's probably best/easiest to scan everything as a positive and invert.

There are some little oddities like true 'no sharpening' being (-60) in the entry box but overall it's my favorite scanning software. I wish it was ported to other scanners...

Using the Mac would be the hard part -- I hate those things.
