There's no need for an adjustable stage if your baseboard and lightbox is properly aligned to the column, and the camera too. I don't have time at the moment for a detailed description of my setup, which is quite versatile and rather deluxe. But in summary, the lens disc to my Durst L184 enlarger can be quickly replaced with a disc holding a tripod head for sake of a film Nikon, a digital Nikon, or my Pentax 6x7. I have right angle finders for all of them. The baseboard will accept copy up to 30x40 inches and has built-in masking blades. LED rim lights are held in place by steel arms on the sides of the baseboards. It's quick to go back and forth between enlarging and copy applications. There are leveling attachments for the cameras too. If the subject needs to be backlit, instead of lit from above like prints, I have a very precise 5000K light box with German color matching tubes in it (more important when copying color film than black and white).
