I know vinyl is not god for archival storage. It's OK for lens coatings, even when hot?

Nice wrap. Unfortunately I don't think you can buy them new any longer.

Good point. Totally agree concerning vinyl for archival storage. In this use I never let the bag or lens get hot. If it did it would not be more and an hour or so.

Maybe a better material to use would be non-woven felt. You have to be careful with lint from the material used.
The padding is not very much less than the lenswrap I have had for years.

I've been using some of my Domke lens wraps for almost forty years. On the oldest ones the Velcro doesn't attach too well anymore, but I can live with that. My lenses have survived quite well... even when i've lost a lens cap and had to wrap one uncapped. Given the cost of good lenses, the price of a wrap is cheap insurance.

    Hello
For my SINAR board lenses, I had berets homemade with elastic edges. They are used in pairs. Each one covers a cap and fits onto the board. Thus, the board is protected by a double layer of fabric.
It is easy to make different sizes for different length groups and thus have the right pair of beret for each lense.
    The fabric is synthetic polar.
It is relatively elastic, well ventilated, and does not retain humidity.
The goal is to hold the snap caps in place and prevent things from interfering with the shutter levers.

I just use 16 or 17 inch square microfiber cleaning cloths but I'm cheap.
