Who can do a CLA of a Durst Head?

I'd love to send one or both of my Durst heads (VLS500 and CLS 501) for a CLA. There is a lot of dust inside them (probably 10th hand at this point) and the filters need a clean or more likely a replacement. Any ideas of who could do it in the US and how much it will cost? Thanks.

There's a guy named George Brown who does business on eBay under the name "apogeebee" and who has offered enlarger-head CLAs for many years now. He did a nice job fixing my gummed-up LPL 4500II color head ten years ago, and checking his eBay listings just now I see that he is still offering this service. He specifically mentions LPL, Omega and Beseler, but it might be worth a query to see if he knows/is comfortable working on Durst.

George Brown has CLA'ed many Sinar Norma Shutters for me, he returned them to me within a couple of days! He is in the NYC area.

    Ask George about your Durst.

It's delicate fussy work, and probably expensive. I did my own. You have to get to the filters to see if they're merely smudged up, or if some of the dichroic coatings have started to spall, and the filters need replacing. I bought some things from apogeebee over 20 years ago; he was reliable.

They are nothing like as complex as some on this thread seem desperate for you to believe. With the right tools and a little common sense you can get them cleaned up and running much faster than you would assume. They are much easier to get access to the electrical connections than some LPL heads - and like the LPL's were clearly designed for straightforward assembly line production. The fiddliest bit is taking off the extenders for the filter controls, the rest is pretty logical.
