Is anyone willing to pay that much for it? Cant be many historical purchases to go off to price

I bought a lens without a shutter, as many were originally sold in the old days, for 80$. Same lens WITH an original factory shutter at time of purchase is going for 900-1900 on ebay, depending on actual shutter used.

But the point raised is valid. Rarity is nice, but a resale value for a rare item is mostly impossible to determine until you find a buyer willing to buy it.

I had the opportunity to see the lens. Its a complete set of 3 lens elements (one front and two rear) in perfect condition.
It has compact design other than the later ATX lenses (front filter diam. 95mm), similar to the Nikon T ED 600/800/1200 maybe even with their reduced IC. But I have not tested the IC.
I could get no further info from the seller about the origin of the lens.
