Upcoming 2024 April 8 Total Eclipse

I'm not so sure it will be that dramatic if there's heavy rain or clouds. The great experience as you've seen first hand, of total solar eclipses is gradually going from bright sun to dusk, for hopefully more than a few minutes. It's surreal.

The states is a pretty sweet place to see this because you can just check the forecast and hop on an interstate to wherever the skies will be clear. You guys are lucky.

8 years ago I had friends and many others driving all over the Midwest

Trying to find best open sky

They drove locally 100's of miles

Had lunch with a Frenchman chasing worldwide for Eclipse

No Place Like Home as I had clear OPEN Sky

It's crazy what some chasers will do or go to, to catch the eclipse. My wife went to Utah for the last one but also went to Australia before that. Total eclipses are infrequent so catch them while they can. Hope you have clear skies where you are !
