Thanks Peter! - And I truly have appreciated all of the interesting inputs!

So I've been all over the place on this...having last swung towards a white light (LED) light source, but am now looking at Superbright COB LED strips, which seem to offer a relatively high concentration of LED's per foot - with high (dimmable) maximum intensities. Furthermore, I can get these in single colors...in which case I'd likely go for interspersing blue and green, or I can get an RGB strip. These strips come in longish (appx. 16 foot) lengths, but can be cut into shorter pieces.

At any rate...the Superbright folks also offer an array of associated components...like ac adapters, dimmer controls, switches, etc., in a variety of configurations.

    2002 I bought a 3200 variable to 4K LED studio panel lamp

    It failed last year

    I used it every day

Now a led ringed ring lamp with variable LED colors

Also a GODOT muliti color LED 48" stick

    I experiment all my life

This is one of the light sources I made for my scanner. It uses RGB led strips:
