    Thank you. Going only by the word I imagined a frame with some flaps around it protecting the image as much as possible from light.

    Not a bad thought as sometimes keeping light away from these old images in important. I have two Calotypes of ferns from a Talbot kinsman which are badly faded. I have a black cloth fraped over the frames when not viewing.

    I have a paper weight, glass, with a small photo affixed to the botton of the paper weight--a small brown toned photo of "Washington's Headquarters, Williamsburg, Va.

    I have no idea of its value but I would say "of value".Click image for larger version.
