    Getting film straight

    All,
I noticed an issue lately....When I process my sheets (4x5), it seems as if the film isn't always centered in the film holder...Its like there's too much of a tolerance between the film dimensions, and the holder dimensions. I think perhaps Im abit tough on the holders too, as I usually take quite a hike/bike ride to my shooting location. Any tips ? Im thinking about a light tapping on the base of the film holder before I load it in the camera, but Im not sure that this will cure the issue.

    Thanks !

Before inserting the holder, while holding it edge-up, give it a sharp tap against the palm of your other hand. Perhaps also on the film-gate end.
