It was five and half years ago when I drove to Santa Barbara and delivered this camera to Lindsey. She was laughing and her eyes beamed with so much joy when we set the camera up in her studio and she studied the reflected images on the giant ground glass. I set up my tiny 11x14 camera with its 810 back and took some portraits of her and some of her friends in her studio as well.
She seems to have so much fun with this large camera.

I love how she describes the public-facing aspect of her work as "performative." I have always found speaking with people when under a darkcloth, letting them peek at the ground glass, answering questions, or just interacting as an annoying side effect of public photography. It makes me reconsider being such a curmudgeon.
