Have ordered 4 of those 900ml amber bottles from Photographers' Formulary.
Very intrigued by the stop loss bags both for photography and for woodworking.
Great suggestion, and thank you all for the discussion.

I use 1/2 gal brown glass bottles used as growlers at the local brewery. This has the added benefit of supplying me with beer. Once emptied of their original contents, I wash them thoroughly with hot water and replace the caps with polycone style replacements found on Amazon or eBay. My local brewer is also willing to sell me new, unused bottles should my beer consumption fall behind my developer consumption. Their prices are way better than Amazon's.

The best brown glass gallon jugs I ever used had a finger hole and a hook for your second finger near the top of the neck. Heavy high quality glass, never broke one and a really nice deep cap. They were cough syrup jugs free from the pharmacy ...... 40+ years ago. Before recycling it would just go in the trash and you just had to ask nicely.
