    Scanners: A Seybold Test Report

I'd like to share a Seybold test report from the early 2000s, which can be beneficial for newcomers interested in high-end scanning.

@pd88 Hi there - thanks for sharing. Can you perhaps take a look at the post I made yesterday regarding the Epson Perfection v7/8 series?

Also, mind if I ask where you got this doc from. It's very informative and looks like it was a part of a larger report.

Note that this is now very old, and tests were done on one sample of each machine. Moreover, the computer situation has changed quite dramatically. Back in the 90s, you wanted to do was much 'correction' in the scanner as possible, as it was difficult to work on the huge high-res files produced on the computers of the time. In some cases the software will limit you to 8 bit per channel files....I have a Cezanne, but it is on it's last legs. If I were looking to do a lot of scanning these days, I'd look somewhere else. The results also depend on the scanner being 'in spec', and in a professional environment, these machines were meant to be professionally serviced fairly often.
