I find the Hohenzollernbrücke visually very interesting due to its graphic structure as it is iron built in the beginning of the 20th century.
If you can find the right spot, there is an intriguing view through the bridge's arches on the DOM.
The iron construction of the Köln Hauptbahnhof's huge hall is very beautiful and the atmosphere is rather special.
Ofcourse there is always the DOM and the historic neighbourhood around it, AND the river Rhein with it's life on the banks.
Have a nice trip!
PS: be aware for the rail way traffic around the bridge!
Hello from France!
I've been to Köln (Cologne) a few times to visit the Photokina, a world famous photo fair (no longer exists)
If you are interested in photo books, you could be interested in visiting this place, "the photo book museum"
THE BOX Körnerstraße 6-8 Köln - Ehrenfeld (can be easily reached by bus)

If you are an aficionado of August Sander, you could be interested in visiting
the Julian Sander gallery: Bonner Str. 82 50677 Cologne
Juian Sander is the great-grandson of August Sander.

And if you have a car and wish to visit the surroundings, August Sander's birthplace, Herdorf in the Westerwald region, close to Siegen, is located about 100 km (~60 miles) east of downtown Cologne.
Re-doing famous landscape images ("tripod-holes") by August Sander might be difficult due to vegetation and road changes.

However, the Rhine valley is a good source of inspiration anyway!
It might be a longish day trip, but I could spend a lot of time photographing in Trier….great Roman architecture (the Porta Nigra, Dom, and baths) as well as the Electoral Palace…the countryside in the Mosel Valley is lovely as well.
This is GREAT- TYVM!!!
Pls- keep the suggestions coming!!!
