    Won’t that give you a single shutter speed? Is that compatible with your intended use? I’d find a single speed to be a bit constraining unless solely in a studio.

    He could use Low ASA

    film add filters

    Slower still

    and count seconds or minutes

    Well Ppackard can give "Bulb" and "instant" . . .which may be around 1/30th or so depending on the size of the shutter and how deftly you can manipulate the pneumatic bulb.

    … which is fine if using flash bulbs or flash powder., or low ISO film and lots of ND filters

    Eventually I want to move to J. Lane Dry Plates whenever they resume production . . .ISO-2.

    Don't think I will ever be able to coat my own plates though.

    Might still be able to (some day) create4 a shutter box based around a Speed Graphic.

    Here’s my solution for most barrel lens - almost as simple but a bit more controllable than the Galli shutter. Black matte board with a slit cut in the middle. With practice you can get fairly accurate with speeds for whatever size opening you choose.
