    Polariod 8x10 options

    Hi all

I'm looking to shoot 8x10 Polaroids for a project but am confused with the hardware required. On the Polaroid website it mentions three options:

    Option 1:
    Polaroid 8X10 processor model 81-01 or 81-02
    Polaroid 81-05 holder
    Power cord

    Option 2:
    Polaroid 8x10 model Calumet
    Film holder 81-06

    Option 3:
    Polaroid 8X10 processor model 81-12 or 81-22
Polaroid 81-06 holder and 81-09 tray
Power cord or hand crank model 81-30

    The Difference:
The 81-05 holder carries both the negative and positive in one integral unit.
The 81-06 carries only the negative and the positive is placed in the tray (81-09) before processing.
The Calumet Model is the only portable and usable solution for shooting instant 8X10 outside of the studio as it’s fully manual.

I'm confused whether an 81-22 processor needs a loading tray as one I've got my eyes on doesn't have one included in the sale. The only thing I can think of is that there are two (or more) types of film holders where one needs a tray and the other doesn't with this processor model.

    Thanks!

    John

All 8x10 processors made by Polaroid need a loading tray to take the 81-06 film holder.

Thank you Tracy. I now see that there are indeed two different Polaroid holders, one requires the tray and the other one doesn’t.
