    Re: Sinar P vs P2

    Question for P2 owners.

I have an 8x10 P2. When I turn the rear tilt knob I feel a *very* soft stepping sensation as it moves the standard along the arced gear track. It's a very subtle feel, like a silent soft click I can feel as I turn the knob. I'm sure I'm feeling the gear teeth as they make their way along. It works just fine and without effort, but is this normal?

The front tilt knob doesn't seem to have this feel, it turns smoothly without any noticeable stepping feel. Perhaps it's just that the rear standard is heavier?

Do the movements, ie the gear tracks, require occasional lubrication as normal maintenance?

    Appreciate your feedback.
