Late introduction from North Wales, UK

    Hello everyone,
I just realised that I hadn't made the effort to introduce myself here.
I started taking colour pics back back around 1982. Around 1988 I got a Nettar folder from someone in the family and then got hooked on medium format black & white & processing/printing.
In the meantime a combination of making a telescope and using camera lenses got me into Optics as a profession. I've been a lens designer since 1988. Mostly in N. Wales at a company variously called Pilkington PE/Pilkington Optronics/Thales Optronics/Qioptiq ; but also a spell at Zeiss in 1997/1998 where I did a few designs for Hasselblad/Contax.
I have a rather too large collection of cameras and lenses from 35mm to 5 x 7". Most of my B&W work has been on 6 x 9cm. I have recently moved to a DSLR for colour.
I've been enjoying the great collection of information and experience here on the forum for a while. Thanks !

Welcome aboard! People are interested in lenses here, so expect to answer questions now and again.
And feel free to show your work, when you want to share any of it.
