Here is an excellent video explaining why the Octobox 150 from Broncolor, is such a popular light with Commercial Professional Large Format Photographers.

It's expensive! I saved up, Adorama had a used one that popped up, like new, for $250. I pounced on it, it's worth every cent I spent on it (to me!) What a phenomenal addition to my little studio!

    Thank you Daniel!

Concerning the 'Welder' I specfically asked sitter to come right from work with no cleanup or face washing

I wanted reality with detail in the leather welder coat and catch the helmet top curve

He was hot, sweaty with nothing added, meaning makeup

X-Ray 1X was perfect for this shot

His baleful tired eyes are not pretty, but reality

Father and son portrait using a "Wisner 8x10 and 300mm f/5.6 Nikkor lens on Ilford HP5. I tilted the front and rear standards to "look down" on the subjects, both parallel to the subjects to bring focus from top to bottom. The lighting was from a 6-ft high softbox and electronic flash, at f/22 1/2.
