lens to Shutter Adapter . . .Grimes or who?

I have a vintage brass no-name rapid rectilinear lens that covers 5x7. I am looking at using it on my little Wists 4x5, but won't be mounting a period correct pneumatic shutter to the camera. I do have a "project quality" leaf shutter and I am exploring the possibility of mounting the lens to that shutter and mounting that combination to a standard Toyo-Wista board.

It will need a new flange for the shutter and a thread adapter for the lens and shutter. I cannot fabricate any of this myself. Is SK Grimes still doing acceptable work? Is there a better alternative?

There are only three types of mounting flanges; too big, too small and wrong thread!

SK Grimes does that type of work frequently and VERY well.
They have made numerous flanges and re-mounted numerous lenses in shutters for me.

I've used S K Grimes many times with 100% satisfaction in everything they did for me. Probably 6 years ago they mounted a 5.9 inch No. 5 Gray Periscope lens in a Copal No. 3. Optics are very much recessed into that Copal... an amazing piece of precision machining in my opinion.

SK Grimes recently added a 67mm female threaded adapter to the front of a Ilex #4 shutter for me. Wasn't expensive at all.

I use metal threaded 67mm lens caps as lens boards for lenses that are rarely used or used on other cameras. 67mm spacers can be purchased on e-bay
if the rear of the lens protrudes too deeply at the back.

Beyond acceptable; Adam is truly extraordinary, IMHO. I began using Steve in the early 90s and since that time their craftsmanship has never wavered.
