I have the older, heavy, grey tubes. I later bought on of the newer black, light plastic ones. Hate it! It sits too high in the water, and harder to spin. The older ones are excellent. If you find some 8x10 tubes, don't buy those light plastic ones!

I use a Jobo for constant agitation, and want to use the BTZS for semi-stand development, resting in a water bath as in your Pyrocat edge effects video. I'm hoping that the tube will fit into one of the slots in my CPP2 - that will keep the stand water bath temp consistent.
It would be interesting if the results your experiment with edge effects and HP5 are also seen with FP4 and x-ray film.
If you don't mind varying your dilutions and volume, a 5 reel tank can be used for two 8x10s taco style.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
