joho, you just learned how to remove whole back with ground glass inside.
If you don’t see it, it probably covered with metal ground glass cover.
Why do you NOT post pics?
It would help us help you
Should be a press to release

My 8X10 did not have 8X10 GG cover
However I have 5X7 and 4X5 OE Linhof backs that have flip out viewing hoods
and a I have a true 5X7 back
All the above interchange in various manner
Additionally the backs and front have 2 holes to mount a shade or darkcloth
Very easy to bend a wire into the rare accessory
Can be used with dark cloth or any variation
The Calumet C1 came with similar
I made and sold a few here on the forum

Wanted to pass along a company that provided me with some support in a stiff Karden Color 8x10 rotating back. I reached out to www.laflexcamera.com and Austin responded with some technical assistance on how to properly remove my camera back and clean it and the synthetic lubricant to use (Super Lube). Back in the saddle as the advice was perfect and I found out my camera was manufactured in 1961.
