A Linhoff Kardan color 8x10 has crossed my path, and I have taken interest to acquire it, I had a quick look at it .
But what should I watch out for ????

But what should I watch out for ????
Broken knobs, they are fragile
NO PARTS!

in the photo here yours has three ?? standards ??? modified lens board too.
At first glance knobs are ok, as for the bellows clean of cracks BUT pin holes ??? have to check !!
how tight should the knobs turn to stop movement ????
OHH!! how does the rear standard removes ??? to go horizontal...
Bellows can be fixed or replaced
The knobs are fragile, if they are the same shape as mine
The back rotates by pushing the corners
It also removes by pushing the corners chrome outward
Watch out, it can surprise
Post a pic here

There should be a push knob on the back of the rear standard that facilitate changing the orientation. I have a Linhof triplex Color Garden with four rails and the heavy duty tripod. The knobs should not be excessively tightened. Only as tight as they need to be to prevent the standard from moving. You can feel where it is enough. The Linhof design is incredible. How it encases the film holder upon insertion with that amazing bail bar so you just set it in there is amazing. They do not make cameras like this any longer. I had my Color Karen out yesterday. It is heavy as the dickers (as you already know), but it is a pleasure to work with. Enjoy.
This camera is built to perfection.
Look for bent / broken knobs which might happen on transportattion.
Weakest point is bellows, they are made for extreme movements but synthetic material prone to deterioration and not easy to fix. Bag bellows were made from leather and must be fine.
It’s easy to find reducing backs at least in Europe.
Go for it if weight dont bother you and if it comes with Linhof tripod.
Dedidated coffer is nice to have too.
thanks for the info !!!! to all !
I am still paying for it in installments so I do not have it with me .
And still have to find 8x10 film holders && a lens for it. I have one 30cm. but looking for a wide-angle.
I have the Linhof 4x5 Kardan GT since 1990.

Lensboards are very rare
That's why I made adapters
Wide angle requires a recessed lens board
My good bellows are leather
The camera I posted has a Packard shutter with sync in side behind the lensboard
Very excited to see pics of yours
Here is the 5X7 variation and I do have 4X5 capacity
